Guided trekking route through the Vall Fosca: The Dark Valley's Hidden Lakes

  • Discover a territory modeled by glaciarism
  • 33 km & 2.700 m positive slope
  • Feel and enjoy the night in Colomina mountain hut and its awesome surroundings
  • Observe the vestiges of recent history in the use of water that has characterized this territory

This is a demanding two-day trek through the high valley of La Vall Fosca.
Header of the Vall Fosca, ” the Dark Valley”, is composed of thirty lakes, of glacial origin.
Highlights Tort lake, Colomina lake or the Sea Lake, which are some of the most known and visited. During our tour, we will see and visit many others that are protected from the eyes of most visitors and just as spectacular as the most famous. For example Francí Lake, Salado lake or Mariolo lake, to mention some.
Overnight in a mountain hut, called “the Colomina” where, surrounded by wonderful scenery, we will have dinner, relax and recover our energy.

The lakes area where we go deep, is the gateway to the the southern side of “Aigüestortes and Sant Maurici” National Park.

In this Alpine scenario, there are a large number of specimens of fauna such as the Pyrenean goat, marmots, snow partridge or bearded voltures. In the highest areas, there locate flora such as gentians, arnica or Rus’ path’s orchids, among others.

Spectacular landscape and route. We went four friends with Ramon and he brought us tremendous knowledge and safety, we will repeat with him on another adventure.

Jordi Gudàs

A route that encompasses all the expectations placed on this activity: fantastic landscapes, little-traveled itinerary that generated a greater degree of adventure for me, physically demanding sections and an adjusted price. As for Ramon, the guide, it generated confidence in me, which I value enormously in this type of activity. His predisposition for us to enjoy the route and his knowledge of the area and technicians, seem remarkable to me.

Pep martín

I have known Ramon for a long time and this confidence does not diminish his effort and enthusiasm to contribute everything he knows. Definitely a good activity where we connected with a spectacular setting, very little (to say nothing) traffic, and with a break at the Colomina refuge located in an incredible enclave. The expectations placed on this trek were amply met. Until next time !!!

Ramon Canalís

We were this August and it’s been a pass. Not missing detail. Ramón gave a lot of security during the crossing and was providing us with information on the fauna and flora of the area. We took spectacular photos of the ponds. I highly recommend it.

We were this August and it’s awesome. Super recommended. We enjoyed the route while looking at the scenery and taking pictures. We have also gained a lot of knowledge (technical, flora and fauna ...) that Ramon has shared with us. Also comment that there has been no lack of detail from Ramon who was always attentive so that you can enjoy the trip. We will repeat for sure.
